Betty Bonewits Scott , 85 of Bauxite, passed away February 16, 2016. She was born February 20, 1930 in Pike County, Arkansas. Betty grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock Central High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and E.E. Bonewits, grandparents, Margaret J. Busby and Aldridge Busby, Katherine and W. E. Bonewits, daughter, Debbie Crane and aunt, Mary Eleanor Busby. She taught Children's Sunday School Class for twenty five years, was a Member of the First United Methodist Church and Dorcas Sunday School Class. Betty was a lifetime member of United Methodist Women and a lifetime member P.T.A. She was a Title One aide at Ringgold Elementary for 20 years, then volunteered at Ringgold for four days a week, working with three different teachers. Betty is survived by daughter, Susan Jackson (Eddie), sons, Mike Scott (Debbie), William Tim Scott, Sr., grandchildren, Karl Jackson (Jenny), Lynn Jackson (Bill), Daryl Jackson, Matt Scott (Sara), Bert Scott (Becca), Jessica Scott Wolfe (Rob), William Timothy Scott Jr., great grandchildren, Mason Scott, Lilly Grace Scott, Reid Scott, Breanna Scott, Veronica Wolfe and Charley Scott. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Smyers Cemetery in Perryville, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at Ashby Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Methodist Church, Audubon Society or Humane Society of Saline County.
