Stinson C. Bailey, age 74, of Benton passed away Monday, February 22, 2016. He was born July 23, 1941 in Casa, Arkansas, to the late Walter C. Bailey and Emerline Rainey. Stinson worked at AFCO Steel for 23 years, and then became an entrepreneur. He was the founder and operator of Bailey Auto Sales for 19 years and retired as a self-contractor and commercial builder and owner of Bailey Properties, LLC. Stinson was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton and a member of the Benton Chamber of Commerce since 1986. He was awarded the Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen of the Year in 1998. Stinson was preceded in death by a sister Carolyn Lejuan Bailey and a brother Clayton C. Bailey. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Doris Murders Bailey, son Tracy Bailey (Peggy), daughter, Janet Gentry (Ron), three grandchildren Constance Grifford (Keaton), Tyler Bailey, Kristen Bailey, and one great- grandchild, Adrianna Grace Grifford, who will know and love him through precious stories and pictures. He is also survived by brothers, Cliff Bailey, E.C. Bailey, Jimmy Bailey, all of Benton, and sisters, Dorothy Wilkins of Sheridan, Jewel Byrd of Pine Bluff, Betty High of Mayflower, Wilma Hughes of Memphis, and Kay Freeman of Benton. Honorary pallbearers will be Trance Palazzi, Tyler Bailey, and John Landers. Pallbearers will be Tommy McClain, Bruce Hester, Brian Hester, Erin Bailey, Ronnie Hughes, and Kevin Murders. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 1 p.m. in Selph Hall at First Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Officiating the service will be Dr. Rick Grant and Rev. Kim Hammer. Interment will follow at Smith Rosemont Cemetery in Benton. Family comments: Stinson was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
