Rondle Gerald Gale

On a hot July 11, 2016, afternoon in Solgohachia, Rondle Gerald Gales road off into the sunset one last time. He was going to meet all of his family, friends and pets that had passed from this life prior to him. Rondle, papa, old man, grandpa and dad as he was affectingly known by family and friends will be missed by many. He was born June 13, 1943, in Rushsprings, Oklahoma. His parents James Ray Gales and Armendia Romine (Gales). He had four siblings. Left behind is an ornery bunch of kids, that spent a lot of time making dad happy and miserable at the same time. The oldest, Alan (wife Chastity), Keith, Tonya Morgan (husband Jim) and the youngest Amber DuVall (husband Mike), and the 10 grandkids and five great-grandkids. Dad would say he hit the "jackpot" when he was set up on a blind date with mom, Jimmie Jones in 1963 by two friends of theirs (thank you Lucy an Tommy). They were married for 52 years. Dad lovingly teased mom all the way up until the end. His favorite saying was when we called on the phone and asked if mom was around dad would say "oh, she is about 10 foot around", knowing she might be 1 foot at the most. Then he would yell "hey Good looking, your daughter or son is on the phone." Dad was always the best at saying how much he loved us and how much we mean to him. He spoke it and always had a hug to go with it, even if you didn't want the hug. He loved to fish, ride horses, pet his dogs and attend any event he could with any child or grandchild that would dare tell him the event was scheduled. We had to be careful of what sporting event we invited him to. If he did not like what the official or coach said, you can be sure they got an earful. But we all knew he expected our best effort and we better give it. Thank you to all his friends and church families for their support during this time. Dad was a wonderful, loving person and we will miss him. We ask in lieu of flowers to please make monetary donations to the First Baptist Church of Center Ridge Arkansas, Attn: Youth Group, 3631 Hwy 92, Center Ridge, Ark. 72027. Memorial services will be at Harris Funeral Home located in Morrilton at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 15th. The family will receive friends after the service. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Online guestbook: www.harrisfuneralhomes.net.
