Susie A. Weatherford, 69, of Jefferson City, Missouri, died Friday, June 24, 2016, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on August 3, 1946, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of the late James Julian and Mary Inez (Roberts) Weatherford. She loved to do genealogy, crafts and was a dedicated volunteer and past board member for the Arkansas Council of the Blind in Springdale, Arkansas. Survivors include her son, James Lee (Joyce) Rettstatt, Jefferson City; a granddaughter, Loriann Marie Rettstatt, Jefferson City; five sisters, Charlene Cargile, Bee Branch, Ark.; May Capps, England, Ark.; Fay Bottoms, Jefferson City; Sharon Huffmaster, Sherwood, Ark.; Marie Weatherford, Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Buddy (Debbie) Courtney, Perry, Ark.; Arthur (Nancy) Weatherford, Roland, Ark.; and a sister-in-law, Vickey Weatherford, Roland, Ark. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth "Cricket" Courtney and a brother, Frankie Weatherford. A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Edgewood Memorial Park Cemetery, 4200 Division St., North Little Rock, Ark. A luncheon and celebration of Susie's life will follow at noon at the Lakewood United Methodist Church, 1922 Topf Road North, Little Rock, Ark. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Arkansas Council of the Blind, 1937 South Custer Lane, c/o Rachel Ames, Treasurer, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701.
