Frances Fooks Newhouse

Frances Fooks Newhouse, 85, of Greenwood, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away July 27, 2016 in Fort Smith. She was born March 28, 1931 in Camden, Ark. to Benjamin Tyndle and Gulnara Estelle Thornton Fooks. She was a former librarian for the Arkansas Tech University, Centenary College in Shreveport, La., and the Sebastian County Law Library. She was a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her husband Paul R. Newhouse Sr of Greenwood; one daughter, Catherine and husband Steven Breedlove of Mt. Ida, Ark., one son, Paul R. Newhouse Jr. of Bonanza, Ark.; and one grandson, Shelby Breedlove. Funeral service will be Monday, August 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Greenwood United Methodist Church with burial to follow at 1 p.m. in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
