Stella Lorene Reed Morrison

Stella Lorene Reed Morrison, age 95, of Calmer, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Drew Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 5, 1920 in the Calmer Community, a daughter of the late Cain Reed and Pearl Reed. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in May 1939. She and her late husband, Rex Morrison operated Rex Morrison Grocery from 1946-1992. Mrs. Morrison worked for Reeds Super Market in Pine Bluff for several years. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Juanice Reed of Pine Bluff; one great-grandson, Patrick Sack of Chicago. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Rex and Nancy Reep Morrison of Calmer; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Larry Hillis of Dumas; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Sandy Reed of Crossett; one sister-in-law, May Dell Morrison of Pansy; four grandchildren: Miachelle Cantrell of Calmer, Mark Morrison of Conway, Shelley Sack of Chicago, and Stacey Roebuck of Dumas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2016 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Doctor Randy Cloud and Brother Juilus Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Pansy Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers will be Dewayne Tooke, Aaron Tooke, Tom White, Owen Rushing, Havis Harrison and Vernon Hankins.
