Jerry N. Cassil, age 67, died peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side Wednesday, June 15, 2016. He is survived by a host of family and friends – all who loved him for his kindness and his keen sense of humor, which often flew over the heads of many not nearly as quick-witted. Jerry was born in Little Rock August. 29, 1948, to the late James and Nancy Cassil. He attended Hall High School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hancock. Jerry retired as a sales representative from Ralph E. Russell Co. in 2015. A lifelong salesman, he made many friends as he traveled Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Jerry was a scratch golfer in his younger years and looked forward each year to playing with his Dad in the Western Hills Country Club Father/Son Tournament. He later enjoyed trout fishing with his wife and friends. Jerry was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 2567 where he played in the APA pool league –giving him great joy being around his friends on Tuesday evenings. He was a life-time, avid Razorback fan. Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol Mooney Cassil; his sons, Steven Cassil and wife, Megan, Jordan Davis and wife Rachel, Aaron Davis and wife Amber; brother Don Cassil; grandchildren James, Aiden, Kendyll, Kinsley and Norah; nephew, Brad Cassil; niece, Jennifer York; and brother-in-law, Gus Mooney. Visitation will be held Friday, June 17, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Hwy 5 N., Alexander, Arkansas. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Jerry's name to Care Link, 706 W. 4th Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas or Human Society of Saline County, 7600 Bauxite Hwy, Bauxite, Arkansas 72011.
