Robin Hood, age 71, of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born November 30, 1944 in Fountain Hill, Ark. to the late Mack Hood and Nola Mae Roberson Hood. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Aaron and Johnny Hood; and two sisters, Norma Sivils and Patricia Hood. He was the Chief Deputy of the Drew County Sherriff's Office and has been involved in all phases of law enforcement. Robin was a minister, gospel singer, guitar player and was a Mason. Survivors include his wife Lynda Mason Hood of Monticello; one daughter, Shay Cowling and husband Brandon of Monticello; one son, Darin Hood of Conway; one brother, Jimmy Hood of Monticello; two sisters, Mackie Boyd of Monticello and Retha Wright of Ozark; eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Kelsie Hood, Mady and Braydon Cowling, Kylee and Jasper Hood, Kylie and Brice Crump; five special children in his life, Eddie and Trish Deaton, Melanie and Randy Crump and Jessica Bulloch; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
