Veta Rae Brooks Boatright

Veta Rae Brooks Boatright, age 89, of Fayetteville, went to be with her Lord on June 21, 2016 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born September 20, 1926 in Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odus and Essa Brooks, as well as four sisters, two brothers, and her son, Mark Douglas Boatright. She is survived by her husband, Marvin D. Boatright, daughter, Debra Summers, son-in-law Rodney Summers, daughter-in-law, Ann Boatright, two grandchildren and spouses and four great-grandchildren. Veta and Marvin spent the early years of their marriage living on the east coast until 1956 when they moved to Covina, California and spent 43 years. They then returned to Fayetteville. Veta was a homemaker who loved her family and frequently entertained family and friends. She was passionate about needlework and made many lovely pieces. She was a breast cancer survivor for 32 years. She was a member of the Mount Comfort Church of Christ and has been a faithful Christian all of her life. She will be missed by family and friends. Visitation will be 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday at Moore's Chapel followed by burial in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
