Ruth M. Riddle

Ruth M. Riddle, 85, passed away June 23, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Ruth was born April 4, 1931 in Pecan Ridge, Miss., to the late Thomas and Bertha McCullough. Ruth was an avid sports fan of the Arkansas State Indians/ Red Wolves and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She taught 22 years at Turrell High School and another 17 years in Pocahontas High School. After retiring from Pocahontas Public Schools, she could fulfill her love for traveling and she was always on the go. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and a doting grandmother. She is survived by two sons, Joe T. Riddle and wife, Amy Beard, James L. Riddle and Pam Harshman; granddaughter Emma Ruth Riddle. She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Marvin E. Riddle; sisters, Susie Kent, Ernest Garrett, Ruby Mae Spencer; brothers, W.T., Bernard, H.P. "Boots" and Cloice "Brother" McCullough. Funeral services will be held at McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be held the following day Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. with nephew Wayne Spencer officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Coney Lea, Justin Major, Lee Bowles, Clyde Hackworth, Ron Stitler, Carl Guy Moore. Honorary: Jerry Haley, James Hooper, Ed Harshman, Grey Thomas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
