Joy Wilson Anthony

Joy Wilson Anthony, age 77, of Arkadelphia died Thursday, March 3, 2016. She was born near Bearden, Ark. the daughter of Chester and Helen Pate Wilson. She was a graduate of Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Texas, started nursing studies at Southern Arkansas University and graduated from Mobile College. She began her nursing career at Mobile Infirmary in Mobile, Ala. and retired after 21 years of service with Baptist Health Systems in Arkansas. She was very active in the Arkadelphia Senior Adult Center and a member of Second Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Wilson. She is survived by her husband of 55 years John R. Anthony, two sons, Mike Anthony and his wife Susan of Bixby, Okla. and Gary Anthony of Humble, Texas, one daughter, Kathy King and husband Jimmy, of Arkadelphia, two brothers, her twin Joe Carol Wilson and his wife Paulette of Woodhaven, Mich. and Ricky Wilson of Whitehall, Ark., four grandchildren, Casey Jackson, Bailey Cockerill, Jackson Anthony and Peter Anthony, two great-grandchildren, Madison Morris and Porter Jackson. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, March 7 at Second Baptist Church of Arkadelphia with Rev. Stan Parris officiating. Burial will be in the Moss Hill Cemetery near Bearden.
