Joseph Arthur Hamel

JOSEPH ARTHUR HAMEL passed away peacefully at Hospice on March 18, 2016. He was born on March 13, 1920 in Woonsocket, R.I. He was born to the late Joseph and Grazalia Hamel. He grew up in Rhode Island along with his three brothers and four sisters. All preceded him in death but for one sister, Terry Kiczak who still lives in in Rhode Island. In 1994, his loving wife of 52 years, Marie Garrich Skarda Hamel also found peace with the Lord leaving behind cherished memories of them with their sons, William and wife, Kathy Skarda of Carlisle, Ark, Robert and Cissy Skarda of Little Rock, Ark., and Elizabeth Knopp of Vilonia; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and, one great-great-grandchild. Rosary services will begin at 9 a.m. with visitation following at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 28 at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 N. Tyler St., Little Rock, AR 72205.
