John Houston Goe

John Houston Goe, 89, of West Memphis, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016. He was born January 17, 1927 at Kensett, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Bertha Goe, his brothers, Henry, Arthur, Billy and his sister, Mary Jones and his granddaughter, Tara Boland. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Lynn Goe, a daughter, Donna Yandell, granddaughter, Shanna Shirreffs (Erik), sisters, Lucy Hatton and Betty Collins and one brother, Danny, and six great–grandchildren, Kaylee and Paige Shirreffs and Jack, Rachel, Tom and Sam Boland. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He retired from Guaranty Loan in 1992 having served as president. He served on Crittenden Memorial Hospital Board Trustees from 1976 to 1992. He was president of West Memphis Rotary Club 1978 to 1979, president of the West Memphis Chamber of Commerce 1980 to 1981. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and Truth Seekers Life Group. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 with Graveside services at 2:30 p.m. at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.
