Harry J. (Jack) Chase passed away in Clinton, Ark. after a short illness, on the evening of March 20, 2016. He was 90. Jack was born on June 19, 1925 in Wichita, KS to the late Severy J. and Irene (Way) Chase. He worked along side his dad at Chase Poultry and Egg starting at age 12. In March 1943 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, eventually becoming a 2nd Lt. Bombardier in WWII. After the war he accepted a full-time appointment in the Air Force Reserve, while continuing to work part-time for his father for the next 11 years. In 1957 he accepted a civil service position in the Air National Guard, was promoted from Air Technician to Lt. Colonel over his 37 year military career, and received numerous awards. He enjoyed his active duty tours as well as many trips to the Pentagon, and he especially loved time with family. He also loved gardening, woodworking, fishing, poker, and golf - 3 holes in one, and he didn't even start playing till he retired at age 55! Jack is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Marie (TenKley) Chase, a son, Scott Chase, and a grandson Brennan Garvey. He is survived by two daughters Jackie Chase and Vicky (Chase) Hawes and spouse David, six grandchildren, Carrie, Katherine, Allie, Dena, Katie, and Shawna, and eight great-grandchildren, Jack, Brennan, Grant, Eli, Jayce, Kelsi, Taylor, and Sydney. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield Bay, Ark. with intermit at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fairfield Bay.In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorial donations be sent to Fairfield Bay United Methodist Church at 765 Dave Creek Parkway, Fairfield Bay Arkansas 72088 (501) 884-3373 Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Ark.
