Sarabel Leech

Sarabel Leech, age 96, of Benton, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016. She was born Oct. 30, 1919 in Benton, Ark. Sarabel was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertie Leech and husband, John D. Leech. She was a devoted Christian & was baptized at the age of 10 and joined First Baptist Church where she participated in church activities including being the organist for 54 years. Sarabel attended Ouachita College and got her Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas. She taught Business Education at Benton High School from 1943-1979. Sarabel married John D. Leech in 1988 and had a very happy life. She is survived by her step-son, Jack Leech and wife, Barbara; step-daughter, Janet Kinkaid and husband, Dale; several cousins: Howard & Debbie Adams, Ronald & Susan Adams and Olive Mobley; and many friends, including Sue Steele, Jean Corley, Dorothy Henthorn, Helen Hughes and her devoted dog, Choco. Visitation will be 12:30 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 3 in Selph Hall at First Baptist Church with services beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Old Rosemont Cemetery.
