Lou Anna Hance, 85, of Batesville died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Wood-Lawn Nursing Home. Born September 3, 1930, in Batesville, she was the daughter of Paul Erton Stone and Laura Lou Callis Stone. Lou Anna was a graduate of Arkansas College. She owned and operated Stone-Hance Monuments until her retirement. She was a member of Z Chapter PEO, KKA Sorority, life member of the Batesville Junior Auxiliary, Batesville Collectors Club, past member of the Batesville Planning Commission, and Lyon College Alumni Council. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church Altar Guild, and past vestry member, Board of North Arkansas Dance Troupe and a member of numerous bridge clubs. She was "one in a million" and was a devoted wife, parent, grandparent and friend. She is survived by two sons, Eric Hance and his wife, Judy, and Dr. Paul Hance and his wife, Laura, all of Batesville; three grandchildren, Maggie Hance and her husband, Drew Nolley, of Johnson City, Tennessee, Ansley Hance and Wes Hance, both of Batesville; step-grandson, Nathan Russell and his wife, Gayle, of St. Louis, Missouri; and cousin, Theodora Hightower of Batesville. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Orville Hance. There will be a funeral service at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Father John Drymon officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Pallbearers will be Tom Vanemburg, Gary Perkey, Steve Massey, Tim Dunlap, Nelson Barnett, and Pat Mulick. Honorary pallbearers are Preston Grace, Eddie House, Jim Buchanan, Jim Crouch, Ray LaCroix, Allen Bufford, Royce Haigwood, Dwight Ford, Troy Mason, Bill Olson and Kirk Warden. The family would especially like to thank Verletta Huff, Beverly Adams, and Cat Oscar for their kindness and care. There will be no visitation.
