Doyle Edwin "Eddie" McCoy, Jr., of Hot Springs, Arkansas died, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at his home at the age of 82. Eddie was born August 14, 1933 in Prescott, Arkansas, the son of the late Doyle Edwin McCoy, Sr., and Jane Garland McCoy. He was a 1951 graduate of Sheridan High School, and a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University and American Institute of Banking. He began his banking career at Grant County Bank in February 1957 and became President and CEO in January 1967. He retired December 1993 when Grant County Bank was purchased by Horizon. During his banking career, Eddie served on several banking committees. He was past president of the Sheridan Rotary and Lions Clubs, and was chairman of the Sheridan-Grant County Airport Commission from its inception until his resignation in 1996. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sheridan and also was a lifelong dedicated Razorback fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Kate Wallace. Survivors are his wife and best friend, Sue Davenport McCoy of the home, sons, Bob and wife JoAnn McCoy of Cedar Park, Texas, Michael McCoy of Houston, Texas; daughters, Rebecca and husband Tracy Hutchens of Fayetteville, Deborah Wallace of Burleson, Texas; brother, Max and wife Nancy McCoy of The Village, Florida; sister, Anne and husband John Kirkpatrick of Sterling, Virginia; grandchildren, Taran Hutchens, Scarlett Hutchens, Zachary Wallace, Kayleigh Wallace, Ashley Rositas, and Ryan Rositas; one great-granddaughter, Kamryn Rositas and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grant County Museum, 521 Shackleford Road, Sheridan, Ark. 72150. Pallbearers are David Damron, Mark Damron, Michael Gwinn, Kerry McCool, Phil Davenport and Jeffrey Hall. Honorary pallbearers are Preston Black, Orrin Damron, Virgil Gwinn, Dale Davenport, Larry Shanks, and the former employees of Grant County Bank.
