Hodges Sam Escue

Hodges Samuel "Sam" Escue, 93, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away May 12, 2016 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born February 6, 1923 in Ft. Worth, Texas, the son of John and Velma Sparks Escue. Sam was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. He retired from the United States Army as a Lt. Colonel after 23 years of service. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlene Escue. Survivors include his wife, Janet Bowden Escue; two stepchildren, Kimberly Thornton and husband Philip of Waco, Texas and John Kirkpatrick of Weatherford, Texas; one step-grandson, Clay Hunter Kirkpatrick and a niece, Lynn Bush and husband Bob of Lincoln. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-3 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Monday May 16, 2016, 10 a.m. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, there will be no graveside service held at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Prairie Grove Library, P.O.
