James Leonard Kirkendoll

James Leonard Kirkendoll, 65, of Shirley was born on September, 4, 1950 in Pee Dee, Arkansas to the late Junior and Iline (Brown) Kirkendoll and passed from this life on May 22, 2016 at his home. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a teacher for over 30 years, a volunteer fire-fighter, Justice of the Peace, a retired Navy Commander and well respected community leader. He is preceded in death by his son, Alex Andrew Kirkendoll and his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gail, of the home, three daughters; Michelle Burgess (Todd), Misty Buchanan, Sheila Gardner (Danny), nine grandchildren; Taylor Burgess Lichty (Logan), Sidney Burgess, Landon Gresham, Jorden Burgess, Bailey Buchanan, Morgen Burgess, Alex Gardner, Sawyer Gardner, Paisley Rowley, one great-grandchild, Bryson Autry, a host of other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home chapel in Clinton Arkansas. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25 at the Shirley High School Auditorium in Shirley, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Shirley.
