Kathleen De Lorenzo

Kathleen De Lorenzo, PhD, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016. She was born September 16, 1939 in Moberly, Missouri to Kathryn Hawk Orscheln and Albert J. Orscheln. She was the third of five girls. Kathleen spent her high school years at St. Scholastica's Academy in Fort Smith, Ark. That is where her love for Arkansas began.Kathleen spent much of her adult years pursuing a career in the United States Air Force while stationed in Hahn, Germany where she met and married Francis De Lorenzo. Kathleen received her Masters in Nursing from the University of Colorado/Denver and later received her PhD in Nursing from Texas Women's University. Kathleen finished her career teaching in the Master's program at UCA. Kathleen is survived by her husband, Francis; two sisters, Judy Wright of Maumelle and Marcella Bazin of Topeka, Kansas; brothers-in-law, Bob DeLorenzo (Sandy) of New Jersey, and Bob Smith of Tennessee; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and sisters, Barbara Scanlon and Jennie Smith. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the physicians and staff at McClellan VA Hospital for their care and support given to Kathleen through the years. Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 noon, May 28th, with visitation one hour prior from 11–12 noon. Private burial will be at a later date.
