Deryl Ralph Wieser, 84, of Bryant Arkansas, entered Heaven's gates on Wednesday, May 25th, 2016. He was born on February 1, 1932 in Logan, Oklahoma to the late Bruce Reed Wieser and Genevieve Wieser Rupprecht. He graduated from Laverne High School, Laverne Oklahoma in 1949 and was soon drafted into the US Army where he served for two years. He worked for General Telephone Company (Verizon) in Hobbs, New Mexico where he worked for 42 years. During this time, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, attending night school and working days. Deryl enjoyed a long retirement traveling, seeing much of the world. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and was never happier than when he was playing Duplicate Bridge. He was always actively involved in his boys' upbringing…Little League, Cub Scouts, Derbies, PTA, Halloween Carnivals, hunting, fishing, camping, overnight sleep overs, church activities, and summer camp. Whatever his boys could think of, Deryl was game! He is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Kimberly Jo, and brothers, Glen, Don, and Larry Wieser. He leaves a lifetime of memories and a legacy of love with his wife of 62 years, Joan; two sons, Kevin (Sharon) Wieser and Kelly (Donna) Wieser; grandchildren, Jay Wieser (Beth), Jamie Cook (Kyle), Jill Franklin (Derek), and Kenley Wieser; great-grandchildren, Sloan, Allie Beth, Eli, Collins, Luke, Ezra, and Emery. Deryl loved to say his salvation was secured one night in a Baptist Church in Laverne. He was dating a girl from the local church and went to church with her several times. At one of those dates, he came to know the Lord Jesus as his personal savior. A quiet man, thoroughly devoted to his family, Deryl was one whom his friends say could always be counted on to "Be there if he was called!" He made friends easily, and those he had, knew his love and loyalty to be steady and ongoing. A special thanks to the staff at Elmcroft in Maumelle and Saline Memorial Hospice for their care and support given to Deryl and his family during the last year. A celebration of Deryl's life will be held on Saturday, May 28th at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home with Brother Will Thompson officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 27th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. also at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home.
