Larry Wayne Ray, 61, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away November 7, 2016. He was born July 14, 1955, in Waynesville, Missouri, to the late John and Wilma Halene (Graves) Harper. Larry retired from the U.S. Forest Service after serving 35 years. He volunteered as the Assistant Basketball Coach at Jessieville for over 23 years. Larry had a big heart and was devoted to his family and friends. Larry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Diane (Ford) Ray; sons, Corey Ray (Tabby), Bryan Lambert (Amber) all of Hot Springs; Bryan's mother, Lynn Lambert (Sammy); brother, Johnny Ray (Rita) of Jessieville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis Ford (LeeAnn) of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Colby and Paige Lambert; nieces, Stefanie Murders (Jimmy), Haley Ford; and nephews, Aaron Ford, Chad Ford (Megan) all of Hot Springs. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth Village Funeral Home. A celebration of Larry's life will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Walnut Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Forrest officiating. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include Donnie Robertson, Charlie Shifflett, Vernon Speers, Duane Cotnam, Joey Herrington, Mark Burr, Eddie Lamb, and Matt Carter. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Robertson, Scott Nicholson, George Foshee, Ronnie Hawkins, U.S. Forest Service and Jessieville School Community. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Issam Makhoul. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Walnut Valley Baptist Church Missions and/or UAMS Cancer Research.
