Mava Carol (Withers) Duke, 68, of Sherwood, left her earthly body on Thursday, November 10, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born on October 22, 1948, in Little Rock, to Manuel Vernon Withers and Ruby Garrison. Mava loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Mava was of the Baptist Faith and was prepared to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Michele Rottman, and her son, Matthew Duke. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband, Danny Duke; daughters, Michele Love and Missie (Larry) Newman; and brother-in-law, James Rottman. The apples of her eyes are her grandchildren, Allison (Andrew) Schuetz, CJ Hills, Lauren Shipman, Allen Newman and Jeffery Newman. She was given the great joy of being a great-grandmother to Bryson Meek, Leland Shipman, Ayden Schuetz and Avenley Fisk. She is also survived by countless family and friends. Her memory will live on forever. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and unselfish ways. The family request that memorials be made to CARTI. A Celebration of Mava's life will be held on Saturday, November 19, at 10 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock.
