Virginia Carol Croisant

Virginia (Jenny) Carol Grissom Croisant, 92, of Cabot, passed away November 12th, 2016, at Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle. She was born July 4th, 1924, in Bedford, Indiana, to the late Lester and Bernadette Grissom. She was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church in Cabot. Jenny spent most of her adult life involved with camping organizations, volunteer activities, and mission work. She loved to spend her time doing crafts, mostly Christmas items: ornaments, old Santas, tree skirts, and many other items. When she wasn't doing crafts she was sewing up cloth books, blankets, etc. for the small children that she served in her mission work. She spent countless hours scouring the local flea markets and thrift stores looking for small stuffed animals and toys for the children as well. Most of the shop owners knew her by name and had a stash of toys waiting on her. Most were eager to help with her activities and would reduce the price or even just give them to her. These toys would go to the various missions in southern Texas. She spent countless hours washing and cleaning those toys then packing them for the trip to south Texas, where she spent her winters along with other members of the camping club. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Fred Croisant. She is survived by her five children; Robert Arnold (Margaret), Kathleen Kelly, Jacquelyn Burns (Bill), James Cody, and Diana Morian (Steve); 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and six of her 11 siblings; Catherine, Jim, Joe, Rosemary, Tommy, and Julia. Special thanks to the staff at Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle for the care and love they have shown to our loved one and to us. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.
