Faye Wanda (Glenn) Helms

Mrs. Faye Wanda (Glenn) Helms of Newport, departed this life on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born August 24, 1926 in Lynn, Arkansas, the daughter of Walter and Idell Glenn. Mrs. Helms was retired from Bell Telephone Company, and had worked as an Arkansas County Clerk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and working in her yard. Mrs. Helms was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Sloan Helms; five brothers, W.R., Eugene, Turner, George, and Wayne Glenn; and one sister, Lydia Binning. She is survived by one son, Ronnie Helms and wife, Margaret, of Stuttgart; one sister, Martha Claire Hunter of Lynn; three grandsons, Taylor and wife, Meredith, Brett, and Trey Helms; and two great-grandchildren, Sloan Helms and Mary Jack Helms; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Tuesday, 10:30-11 a.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Taylor Helms, Brett Helms, Trey Helms, Corky Hunter, Ricky Hunter, David Scott Durham, and Andy Durham.
