William H. Hestir

LTC William H. Hestir, (USAF Retired ), 85, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, November, 23, 2016. He was born October 17, 1931 in Marmaduke, Arkansas to the late Orie Hestir and Mary Barclay Hestir. William attended the University of Arkansas and earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He served 30 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He enjoyed traveling, wood working, bird hunting and other outdoor activities. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ronald and Donald Hestir. He is survived by his wife, Loreta Hestir; his children, Bill R. Hestir, Mary K. Eastis (David), Benjamin Hestir, (Stacy); and stepdaughters, Annette Jones (Randy) and Connie Sisemore (Jonathan); and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816. Burial with military honors will be at Hestir Cemetery near Lonoke.
