Donald Eugene "Don" Carter

Donald Eugene "Don" Carter, 83, of Johnson, died Saturday, October 1, 2016. He was born January 14, 1933 in Springdale to Floyd and Minnie Keen Carter. Don served in the Army during the Korean War. After retirement from his trucking company he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and his dog, Sammy. He is survived by two children, Jerry Carter and wife Sandi of Springdale, Margie Whetsel and husband Dana of Oceanside, California; a sister, Bea Shane of Springdale; dear friend and companion, Gwen Baker of Johnson; four grandchildren, Erik Courtney and wife Andrea, and children Arlyne and Erik, Jr.; John Carter and wife Amanda, and children Oliver and Elena; Kristal Miser and husband Eric, and children Kahlea, Beckett and Kora; Kimberley Orona and husband Michael, and children Hunter and Fisher; and another great-grandchild, Shaydra, daughter of the late grandson, Kenny Harp. Don was also preceded in death by his wife, Christine, in 2005. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6, at Stuckey Cemetery in Johnson.
