June Florence (Merrill) Scholtens

June Florence (Merrill) Scholtens passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at home in Little Rock, Ark. She was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, to Florence (Quandt) Merrill and Clarence Earl Merrill. After residing in the Chicago area for 82 years, she moved to Brookdale at Pleasant Hills in Little Rock in 2005. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; Albert Scholtens, her husband of 57 years; and a brother, Eugene Merrill. Survivors include sons, Martin Albert (Raylene) Scholtens, of Jackson, Wyo.; John Dennis (Carol) Scholtens of Little Rock; and Earl Clarence (Pamela) Scholtens of The Villages, Fla. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kristen (Stephen) Carter and Todd (Diana) Scholtens of Jackson, Wyo.; Wendy (Paul) Wood, Little Rock; Jay (Mary-Margaret) Scholtens, Jonesboro; Bradley (Kristin) Scholtens, Grayslake, Ill.; Kurtis (Whitney) Scholtens, Hudsonville, Mich.; and Andrew (Allison) Scholtens, Marietta, Ga.; and 18 great-grandchildren. Burial service will be at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery in Oak Lawn, Ill. The family wishes to express deep appreciation to the competent and caring staff at Brookdale at Pleasant Hills and to Pastor Mary Hilliard at Asbury United Methodist Church.
