Glenda Joyce (Brown) Eddins

Glenda Eddins, a resident of Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was one of two children born to the late George F. Brown and Winnie (Britt) Brown and was predeceased by her brother, Danny F. Brown. She graduated in 1963 from Little Rock Central High School, and spent many years as a regional sales professional for Del Monte Foods and Mountain Valley Water. In 1996, Glenda entered into a new career with the Little Rock Police Department as a 911 Operator and Police Dispatcher, retiring from there in 2010. Glenda will always be remembered for her zest for life and self-sufficiency. She was an avid reader and had a constant thirst for knowledge which culminated into an amazing ability to speak on almost any subject. She loved everything from Politics to The Razorbacks, but she got her greatest joy from her dogs Millie & Maddie. The three of them could often be seen out for walks around Midtown or joyrides in her Mini Cooper. She enjoyed attending services and was a member for more than 5 years at Unity Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and brother, Glenda is predeceased by her half- brother, Donald M. Brown and her beloved dog, Millie. Survivors include her step-daughter, Lisa Eddins Saldivar and husband Jim of Houston, Texas; half-sister, Wanda Lucille and her husband Danny Lee of Kentucky; nephew, Randall Lee Brown and wife Cathy of Enola; niece, Donna Ann Donaldson of Little Rock, nephew, Danny Brown, Jr.; cousin, Johnnie Orene Green and her husband Leland of Mountain Home, Ark., and a host of great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Melba Collins Brehm and Gordon Brehm for their kindness in taking in Fatty Maddie Brown and giving her love and tender care so Glenda didn't have to worry about her beloved pet. Additionally, we are so grateful to Glenda's longtime friend Loette Jarratt for sitting bedside vigil with Glenda during the final hours of her life. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Madison Health & Rehab for their exceptional service, and, to Arkansas Hospice for their compassionate care, and vigilance. A memorial service will take place at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211 on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mark Harris officiating.
