Jean Vail

Mrs. Charles E. (Jean) Vail, 92, of Bentonville, Ark., went to her eternal rest Oct. 16, 2016. She was born Feb. 26, 1924, to Imer and Lila Livingston in Fillmore, Ill. Jean married the love of her life, Charles E. Vail, on July 15, 1945. She was a veterinarian assistant to him in their family business. They moved to Arkansas in March 1991. She was a volunteer docent at the Peel House Museum; belonged to Butterfield Trails Questers #949, the Lovely Purchase Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), and Sigma Sigma Sigma; was a member of The United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista; and spent 30 years working on the family genealogy. Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Allen Livingston. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 71 years; her sons, Charles L. (Betsy) Vail and Mark A. (Christy) Vail; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Lila Stephenson. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road, Bella Vista, Ark. 72715; phone (479) 855-1325.
