Karen Lee Aponte, of Jacksonville, Ark. was born August 11, 1954 in Osaka, Japan to Euyn Thomas and Martha Lucas Cobb, while her father was stationed there with the US Army. She left us peacefully on October 21, 2016 to be with her Lord and Savior. Karen graduated from Waynesville High School in Waynesville, Missouri in 1973 and went on to graduate from Mid America Business College in Springfield, Missouri in 1974. In 1975, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Angel Aponte, Jr. He joined the US Air Force and she followed wherever he went. During their time together they were rarely apart. Their marriage was based on trust, loyalty and above all---LOVE. During her lifetime, Karen excelled working in various fields; Hallmark, Wicks & Sticks and as a medical records clerk. She volunteered for the Red Cross and was a paid staff member. But the most important aspect of this wonderful woman's life was her role as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and grandmother. Her husband, Angel her son, Michael, her daughter-in-law, Jamie and her beloved granddaughter, Gracie were the most important people in her life. Her heart also held a special place and love for her extended family: her nieces, nephews, in-laws and her dear friends. She was strong, capable and a fighter. She had a wonderful sense of humor and at times had a bit of a temper. She had a unique talent for decorating and a particular love for her collection of Precious Moments, American Girl Dolls, Holiday Barbie and Mickey Mouse which she placed in most arears of her home. She loved daisies and carried them in her wedding bouquet, so it is fitting she have daisies at her funeral. Karen Lee was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Cobb and father, Euyn Thomas Cobb. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Angel Aponte Jr., her beloved son, Michael and his wife Jamie, her precious granddaughter, Gracie, her mother, Martha, special sister through friendship, Debbie Cobb, and very special friends, Ed Greene, Tracey Weaver, Joe and Linda Nichols, and Pat Alexshonis. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Neymi Aponte, Ana Martens (Brad), Vilma Aponte, and Doris Behar (Albert); brother-in-law, Edwin Aponte (Debbie) and Rafael Aponte (Sonia), nieces and nephews, Christopher Cobb, Lana Cobb, Stephanie Cobb, Steven Combs, Matthew Gamblin (Sara), Chad Aponte, Theresa Aponte, Rafael Aponte (Karla), Joseph Ferstl, and Ryan Behar.
