Wayne Allen Ratliff

Wayne Allen Ratliff, 62, born December 25, 1953, and a lifelong resident of Pine Bluff, passed away Tuesday, August 30th at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Russell Franklin and Hazel Willis Ratliff. He was preceded in death by both parents and brothers, Joe D. Ratliff and Russell Lee Ratliff. Mr. Ratliff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. For many years he enjoyed teaching and contributing to the productive future of his students. He taught social studies, global studies, economics and geography in the Altheimer School District and the Arkansas Department of Corrections. He was an avid reader and studied history and politics from an early age. He enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, watching old movies, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and was a passionate Razorback football and basketball fan. He is survived by a brother, Richard (Rita) D. Ratliff of Pine Bluff; sisters, Marilyn R. Boellner and Cheryl L. Ratliff (Tony Orlando) of Little Rock; sister-in-law, Pam S. Ratliff of Pine Bluff; nieces, Karen J. (Brian) Gordon, Stacy R. (Brian) Richey, Brandy R. (Sam) Weatherly, Whitney R. (Mark) Hardin; and nephew, Eric (Shelley) Jameson; and 12 grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A Memorial Graveside service by Ralph Robinson & Son will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 3 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery with Reverend James Watson officiating.
