Ewell Ray Clay

Ewell Ray Clay, 89 of Benton, passed away September 8, 2016 in Benton. He was born January 17, 1927 in Benton, to the late David and Maude (Sims) Clay. Mr. Clay was a U S Army Verteran, having served as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne in Japan during WWII, and a member of the VFW. He had retired as an operator from Alcoa. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Augustine; one son, Darrell Clay of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Kathryn "Kathy" Smith of White Hall; grandsons, Wade Smith of Rogers, Greg Smith of White Hall, Aaron Clay of Autstin, Texas; granddaughters, Carrie Taliaferro of Fort Smith; Natalie Clay of Washington DC; two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Tucker Taliaferro, and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home with Bro. Marcus Blakely officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Rosemont Memorial Park.
