Mildred Kirchoff Long

Mildred Kirchoff Long, 80, died March 31, 2017. She was born June 5, 1936 in Point Deluce, Ark., to William Baeh Kirchoff and India Margaret McGraw Kirchoff. Mildred retired from the DeWitt Public Library and was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the Chancel Choir and participated in UMW. She was also a member of DeWitt Lions Club and Gideons Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Billy, Allen, and Arlen Kirchoff. Mildred is survived by her husband, Duane Long; two sons, Martin F. Kleinschmidt of Houston, Texas, and Sam Sanchez III of Geneva, Ill.; two step-children, Harold R. Long (Laura Jo) of Kansas City, Mo., and Beverly Long Bethune (Scott) of Ottumwa, Iowa; and one grandson, Sam W. Sanchez. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 3 at Essex Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4 at First United Methodist Church with burial following in Gillett Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home.
