Joni Laraine Taylor, 61, passed away with family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Little Rock on November 4, 1956, to George William and Wada Ray Taylor. Joni attended Forest Heights Jr. High, Hall High, Henderson State U, and paralegal school. She spent her adult life in Little Rock, Fayetteville and the Dallas area where she worked mostly in the technology and paralegal fields. Joni was an avid learner, always taking classes and mastering new subjects like history, the classics, art, life coaching, and especially music. She sang and played the piano, dulcimer and harp beautifully. She was a devout Methodist and treated others with great grace and a tender heart. She was extremely witty, creative, adventurous, determined, and a loyal friend. Joni was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her sister, Rita Lynn Rodgers and her husband Charles; her brother, Mike Taylor and his wife Edra; her niece, Lori Rodgers, nephew, Chad Rodgers, nephew, Joey Taylor and their families. Her lifelong friends have been precious especially in these last few months. Thank you to the staff who walked with her at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, and the sweet members of Webb Chapel UMC and Holy Covenant UMC. This Saturday, December 16th, from 2 to 4 p.m., we wish to celebrate together with an informal visitation only at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street in Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Webb Chapel United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch, Texas.
