Ann Ivareese Redden Adair

Musician and loving mentor, Ann Ivareese Redden Adair, 92, of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Adair was born March 24, 1924, in New Edinburg (Cleveland County) to the late Tom Alvin and Iva Belle Roberson Redden. She was reared and received her education in Pine Bluff, where she graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1942. She married Dr. Toby W. Adair, Jr. on May 8, 1943, in Pine Bluff. The pair attended Centenary College and Golden Gate Seminary together, where Mrs. Adair studied music. Together, they served 24 years of the United States Air Force service, including World War II and the Korean War, followed by 30 years of ministry, and 32 years of Pine Bluff community leadership. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had served as president of the Jefferson County Historical Museum and the Notables Board of the Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Adair-Marshall of Seattle, Washington; granddaughter, Cathy Beynon of Bryant; four great-grandchildren, Charlyn, Toby, Jayna, and Shawn Sternod of Bryant. Mrs. Adair was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as her brothers, Dr. Tom Redden and John Yates Redden, and her sister, Nell Odom. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 4, 2017, 3:30-5:30 p.m., at Robinson's. Funeral services will be Monday, February 6, 2017, 1:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff with Reverends Ken Thornton and Pete Beavers officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
