Thomas Winburn Reed, age 87, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 after a long battle with COPD. He was born September 8, 1929 in Benton, Arkansas to Benny and Cora Reed. Mr. Reed retired from Alcoa after 30 years. He was a member of the Alcoa 25 year club and the Twirling Lariats Square Dancers. Mr. Reed was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Benton including the Men's Bible Class and the Men's Prayer Breakfast. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Patsy McCook Reed; daughter, Minta James (Coy) of Benton; Emory Reed (Mac Brown) of Sherwood; two grandchildren, Clint James (Leanne) of Batesville and Amanda Forbush (Nick) of East End; three great-granddaughters, Maddie James, Alyssa and Hailey Forbush; brother-in-law, Jim McCook (Mary); many special nieces, nephews & friends and two cats, Girl and Tar. Pallbearers will be Tony Floyd, Bruce Armstrong, Dennis Hester, Jay Deere, Hurley Clinton, Randal Chastain and Don Utley. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Bible Class @ FUMC, Preston Bridges, Olin Weaver and Rev. Victor Green. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 9 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 10 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock. Rev. Ben Crismon will be officiating.
