Benjamin Dale Mayfield, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, age 41, of Benton, Ark., passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on April 4, 1975 to Lewis and Judy Mayfield. He was a 1993 Benton High School graduate and graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1998 with a degree in Professional Aviation. He was a pilot with Express Jet Airlines, a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, and an Eagle Scout. Benjamin was an amazing cook and was a master at the grill. He loved to hunt and fish. Above all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his niece, nephew, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hoy and Edna Mayfield and Perry and Lottie Walker. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Rebecca Diane Mayfield Brister; one niece, Anna Marie Brister; one nephew, Jack McClure Brister; his fiance', Courtney Cathey; several uncles, aunts, and cousins; other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, 402 Shenandoah Drive, Benton, Arkansas 72019 with Bro. Michael Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Cemetery with John Hunnicutt, Lee Harris, Gary Pinkerton, Clint Rickett, Cory Rickett, and Kevin Wray serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are all former and current fellow Express Jet Airline Pilots.
