HAZEL L. COOK, 91, of Little Rock, Ark., died June 7, 2017. She was born April 2, 1926, in North Little Rock, Ark., to Homer and Sallie House Copeland. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, J. E. Copeland and Bill Copeland; and her sister, Martha Jenkins. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Dawson Cook; sons, Thomas Cook (Sandra) of San Diego, Calif.; Roger Cook (Cheryl) of Columbia, Mo.; Robert Cook (Teresa) of Baltimore, Md.; daughter, Sally Cook of Memphis, Tenn.; twin brother, Basil Cook of North Little Rock, Ark.; sister, Juanita Ashley of Maumelle, Ark.; five grandsons; and one great-granddaughter, Hazel. She was known for her love for babies. After volunteering at Arkansas Children's Hospital for a number of years, Hazel was employed at the hospital as the first Patient/Family Representative. She served until retiring at the same time her husband retired from his job. Hazel was a devout Christian and an active member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ for 42 years. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., Monday, June 12, 2017, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72212. Funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5 N, Alexander, Ark. 72002.
