Betty Charlene Mansfield-Jaques

Betty Charlene Mansfield-Jaques, 89, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away February 25, 2017 at Memorial Hospital. Betty was born in Little Rock, Ark., on October 9, 1927 to the late George and Leta Mansfield. She traveled the world with her husband and enjoyed volunteering with Next-2-New in Austin, Texas. She retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of the American Legion and VFW Post 168 in New Hampshire. Betty was proceeded in death her parents; husband, Dr. William E. Jaques; brothers, George and Clarence Mansfield. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, R. Gail Johnson; stepchildren, Judy Raver, William, Penny, Pam, Arthur and David Jaques; grandchildren, Thomas and Heather Knight, Erin Johnson; great-grandchildren, Talulah Johnson and Caleb Dade; sister, Mary Virginia Smith; many beloved nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Next-2-New Shop, 5435 Burnet Rd., Austin, Texas 78756. Neptune Society of Jacksonville is in charge of her arrangements.
