Joy Lucretia Gibbs

Joy Lucretia Gibbs joined her husband in heaven on their 55th Wedding Anniversary, Thursday, March 16, 2017. They celebrate together with Jesus her homecoming. She was born Aug. 29, 1939 in Lonoke to the late Andrew Ellis and Vera Holt. Joy was Lonoke High Female Athlete of The Year in 1957 and 1958; holding the record for most points scored in a Basketball game (52 Points). She worked at Bank of America for 26 years retiring in 2013. Joy was a lifelong and active member of Second Baptist Church in Conway. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James Kenneth Gibbs II (Ann Marie) of Little Rock; daughters: Dana Gibbs Daniel (Scott) of Little Rock, Andrea Joy Gibbs Williamson (Greg) of Edmond, Okla., and Heidi Gibbs Lyon (Brad) of Fayetteville, Ark.; eleven grandchildren: Suzanna, Stevie and Liza Joy Gibbs, Julienne, Finley, Charles Walker and Dutch Daniel, Sydney, Eli and Malachi Williamson and Loxley Lyon; siblings: Thomas Holt of Pinebluff, Carolyn Kennedy (Jimmy) of Sherwood, Bill Holt (Anita Kay) of Smyrna, Tenn., and Ronnie Holt of Lonoke; and a host of extended family and friends. Joy is preceded in death by her husband J.K. Gibbs, and her parents. In Lieu of flowers Donations can be made in Joy's name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at Arkansas MDA 204 Executive Court #208, Little Rock, Ark., 72205.
