Donna Rae Raines

Donna Rae Raines, age 66, of Warren, Ark., won her battle with A.L.S. on Wednesday, March 29, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, Ark. She was born on August 29, 1950 in Warren, Ark., a daughter of the late Douglas Ray Wheeler and Frances Powell Wheeler. She was a retired educator from the Warren Public School System and from the Fordyce Public School System, with a total of 28 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Class teacher, she sang in the choir, and was a choir soloist in the church she loved. She was very passionate for life; she loved her family and music. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Douglas Wheeler. Survivors include husband, Marlin Raines, whom she married March 11, 1972, where they both enjoyed their 45 years of marriage. Also, son, Eddie Raines and spouse Jodi, Warren, Ark.; brother Jimmy Wayne Wheeler, Warren, Ark.; sister Nancy Wheeler Jones and spouse Calvin, Warren, Ark.; four grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Abby, and Amelia, all of Warren, Ark.; a son by her heart, Kenneth Cox, Williamsburg, Va.; and former sister-in-law, Sylvia Wheeler Calvin, Warren, Ark.; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, First Baptist Church. Burial in Moseley Cemetery by Frazer Funeral Home. Visitation 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 31, at Frazer's.
