Jessie George Kemp

Jessie George Kemp, Sr., son of the late Charles D. Kemp and Evah Mayfield Kemp, was born March 25, 1931 in Calico Rock, Arkansas. He departed this life April 24, 2017 in Mtn. Home, Arkansas at the age of 86 years and 30 days. He married Anna Dwelle December 17, 1955 in Yellville, Arkansas. To this union five children were born, Mary Ann, Jessie, Eddie, Kary, and Sallie. George was a member of the Calico Rock United Methodist Church, the Acacia Masonic Lodge #625 in Calico Rock, and the North Central Arkansas Beekeepers. He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Anna Kemp, three sons, Jessie George Kemp, Jr., Edward Charles Kemp and wife, Fran, of Mtn. Home, and Robert Gregory Nicholson of Groves, Texas, and two daughters, Kary Nan Kemp and husband, Frank Kump, and Sallie Ahlert and husband, Allen, all of Norman, Okla.; 11 grandchildren: Amy Kemp Stevenson and husband, Brett of Oxford, Sean Landis Kemp and Macey Kemp of Mtn. Home, Frankie and Anna Kump, and Vincent, Amelia, Georgia, Sarah, and Joseph Ahlert, and two great-grandsons, Noah and Ryder Stevenson. George was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Kemp and a half-sister, Marie Kemp Ranger. Memorial service: Saturday, May 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Calico Rock United Methodist Church.
