Lois Newberry McLain

Lois Wallace Newberry McLain, 89, lifelong resident of Bald Knob, and Searcy Arkansas passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Brighton Ridge Nursing Home in Eureka Springs. Lois was born April 2, 1928 in Worden, Arkansas to the late Phillip Milton Wallace and Edna Wave Radcliff. She was a resident of Bald Knob and Searcy for 75 years. In 1945 Lois graduated from Bald Knob High School and in 1947 from ASU-Junior College in Beebe. She received her Real Estate License in 1976. For 20 years she was a secretary and office manager to many local businesses. Lois spent the next 30 years as a real estate agent earning membership in the Million Dollar Realtors Club during her career. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Lois spent her early years attending the Worden Baptist Church, then Central Baptist Church in Bald Knob where she faithfully attended and served as a Sunday School teacher. In her later years she was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle Church in Searcy. She leaves behind her son, Rick Newberry and wife, Nancy of Fayetteville and daughter, Sharon Newberry Ary and husband, Gene of Berryville; five grandchildren, Blake Ary, Ross Ary, Jim Newberry, Ryane Newberry Ward, and Kathryn Newberry Parker; seven great-grandchildren, Cole Parton, Layla Parker, Sagely Ward, Cayden Ward, Lindley Parker, Emery Ward and Addison Ary, two brothers, Joe Wallace and wife, Jeanette and Jimmy Wallace and June Elliott. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Ray, Glenny, Roy, Johnnie and Dale Wallace and one sister, Sally June White. Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Services will begin immediately following at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Bald Knob.
