Bobby G. Combs, 73, of Gravel Ridge passed away Sunday, October 1st. He was born in Memphis, Tenn. to parents Edward and Florence Combs. Bobby graduated from Memphis High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army for seven years. After moving to the central Aransas area, he joined the Little Rock Fire Department, retiring as a Captain after 30 years of service. Bobby was of the Baptist faith. Bobby loved to golf and was an accomplished racquetball player who won a state championship and served as an instructor for many years. He was a man who served his community in many ways by donating his time to the LRFD while raising donations for Arkansas Children's Hospital Burn Unit and for the Moose Heart Children's Home while a member of the Sylvan Hills Moose Lodge. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and also a member of the Shriners. He was generous to all with his upbeat spirit and loved to share a joke and make his family and friends laugh along with him. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Carol and Louise Combs; brother, Louis Combs and his first wife, Patricia Combs. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, June Combs; sons, Richard Combs and Steven Crowder; daughter, Rhonda (Jon) Keeton; grandchildren, Brittany Lewis and Jennifer (Robert) Johnson; great-grandson, Canyn Johnson; sister, Shirley Combs and lifelong friends, Charles and Evangeline Roark and their daughter, Krystle Roark. Funeral services honoring Bobby's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4th at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd. in North Little Rock.
