Almer Leon Johnson-Sharp

Almer Johnson-Sharp was born October 1, 1956 to the late Essex and Sarah Johnson. Almer attended the University of Arkansas at Jonesboro; later she transferred to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where she received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Physical Education and Special Education. She continued to further her education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and received a Master's Degree in Special Education and in 2005 she received a second Master's Degree. Almer taught at Benton Service Center, Oak Grove High School-Jacksonville, Ark., Daisy Bates Elementary School-Little Rock, and Arkansas Health Center-Little Rock, Easter Seals, and Hall High School-Little Rock. Almer Johnson-Sharp was plucked from this earthly garden on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Survivors are her husband; James Sharp,sons; Terrance Sharp and Javontae Sharp, stepsons; DeGary Sharp and James Sharp Jr., sisters; Ethel Johnson-Ficklin (Lawrence) and Dorothy J. Johnson-Anderson, two brothers, Essex Johnson Jr. and John Johnson, step-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, other relatives and friends. Funeral service Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at New Light Church, Helena, Ark. Interment, Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa, Ark.
