Gladys Beckton Thomas

MRS. GLADYS BECKTON THOMAS,102, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on Oct. 19,2017. Mrs. Gladys Thomas was born on Nov. 28, 1914. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Beckton,Louise Beckton; four sisters, Drula Rawlin, Irene Hughes, Orcela Moore, and Ethel Robinson all of Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers, Anthony Beckton Jr. and Walter Beckton. Gladys was married to the late Elder Oliver Thomas and to this union there were no children born. He also preceded her in death. Mother Thomas had many children that she cared for in her home, over a period of time. She was a member of Rosedale Church of God in Christ, where she served on the Mother Board. She was a great inspiration to all of of us. She leaves to cherish her memories two nephews, Anthony Beckton III, Robert N. Moore (Hattie) all of Little Rock; one niece, Mrs. Bonnie Mae Saxton of Little Rock, AR., and a host of great-nieces and nephews and Chicago, Ill. And a lot of friends at Cumberland towers on east 8th St. Graveside services will be Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017 11 a..m., at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, Ark., on Highway 5.
