Horace R. Whitfield

Horace R. Whitfield, age 73, of Bauxite; passed away Monday, September 25, 2017. He was born September 2, 1944 in Bauxite, Arkansas. Horace was a member of Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace B. and Alma Whitfield and a son, Michael Whitfield. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Sue Whitfield; daughter, Elizabeth (B.J.), Webb; sister, Levoy Henson and three grandchildren, Olivia Webb, Naaman Webb, and Savannah Webb. Close family friend, Carolyn Salyers, honorary brother, Richard Hogans. He loved spending time with his grandkids and praying and reading his Bible. If there's a farm in heaven that's where you'll find him. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 28 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 29 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Mars Hill Cemetery. Bro. Randy Spears and Bro. Richard Hogans will be officiating.
