Charles Wilson Oliger

Sgt. Major (Ret) Charles Wilson Oliger, 92, of Lonoke, died peacefully at his home on Friday, April 6, 2018. He was born January 20, 1926 in Sherrill, Arkansas to the late Lee and Ann Orton Oliger. Charles was a decorated World War II hero. He served twenty-one years in the United States Army, serving in Germany, France and Korea. Upon his retirement from the military, he was employed as a security guard at the Veteran's Hospital in Little Rock. Charles was an outdoorsman and loved to garden, fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Bradshaw Oliger; and brothers, Victor, Don and Paul Oliger. Survivors include daughters, Renee (Joe) Hicks and Rebecca (Benny) Sain of Lonoke; son, Greg Oliger of Lonoke; grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Chris and Justin; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy, Ann and Sally; brothers, Louis and Herman. Graveside services with full military honors will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Hicks Cemetery in Lonoke with Brother Paul Woolley officiating.
