Pierre Charles Pawlak

Pierre Charles Pawlak, 90, of Jacksonville, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on December 7, 2018. He was born August 10, 1928 in Montebello, California to John "Jack" and Esther Edith (Eggler) Pawlak. Pierre graduated from Montebello High School in 1946. While in high school, Pierre was active in music and many other student activities. He attended community college and began his banking career with Bank of America. Soon thereafter, he went into the United States Air Force, serving at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where he met the love of his life for 66 years, Lurannah Modine Wilcox. They married October 10, 1952. Pierre was in the United States Air Force for 4 years. During his military service, he served as a Chaplain's Assistant which included playing piano and organ and clerical duties for the Base Chaplain Commander. After an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force, Pierre and Modine returned to Southern California with their firstborn daughter as he continued his banking career for the next three decades. During that time, he continued to be active in the banking industry, raising their four children and was also active at church, where he was assistant organist and other volunteer capacities. He and Modine served the congregation in many ways with the Sunday School program and Challengers adult social program. He is survived by his wife, Modine of Jacksonville, Ark., three daughters, Lynn, Deb, and Pam, and one son, Brian and their spouses, and his sister, Yvonne Hughes, plus numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Ark.
